About Tyler

Tyler graduated from Shippensburg University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and major in History.

After substitute teaching in Pennsylvania, he found a job teaching Social Studies and coaching football at his parents’ alma matter of Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Virginia. He was regularly acclaimed and seen as an example for others through his enthusiastic content delivery, and concern for his students.

In 2019 he was called upon by his Nation to deploy overseas to Poland, and put his teaching job on hold to serve. Tyler enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 2010, and commissioned as an infantry officer in 2015. Tyler successfully deployed to Poland as part of NATO Operation Enhanced Forward Presence to bolster the NATO alliance and ensure interoperability amongst partner nations. During the deployment, he relocated to his wife’s hometown of Frederick.

Upon his return, he continued teaching at FHS to finish the school year. After sacrificing time away from his wife and newborn son, he looked for a job in Frederick County. He began teaching at Monocacy Middle School and coaching football at Catoctin High School. Tyler taught until the end of 2021, when he received an offer to enter the commercial world and began a career in sales.

He now lives in Frederick County with his wife and three children, coaches his son in baseball and football, continues to serve in the Maryland Army National Guard, and is an active member of his church community.
